The
Saab 9-3 Aero has a stance all its own, but perhaps the foremost reason
for choosing this model cannot even be seen from the outside.
A turbocharged engine producing 205 bhp nestles under the bonnet,
providing massive power throughout the rev range. It offers impressive
280 Nm of torque, giving instant response for swift overtaking.
More
easily noticeable are the 17-inch wheels, the deep front air dam,
the rear bridge spoiler and the side skirts that help to improve
aerodynamics as speed rises. Coupé and five-door models have
a sports chassis set up for a more active driving style - giving
even more road grip and enhanced road feel.
Opening the door reveals the leather-faced power sports seats with
their hip-hugging lumbar supports and extended seat cushions.
The carbon-fibre instrument panel is new for this year. Alternatively
you can specify the optional wooden instrumental panel. The steering
wheel has pronounced thumb-grips and is trimmed in perforated leather.
Over and above this, there's much of what you could expect to see
as standard.
