Dynamic Handling
The Saab 9-3 SportsHatch has no less than six dynamic handling systems to cope with critical driving situations. The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) uses steering angle, yaw rate and lateral acceleration sensors to reduce the risk of skidding. The new ESP Plus system offers even smoother control and the ingenious Hill Start Assist (HAS) system, which facilitates uphill starts, is now available on manual models.

Perfect control
ReAxs controls the interaction between the steering, the front suspension and the multilink rear axle. When cornering, the ReAxs system gently turns the rear wheels in the opposite direction to the front wheels. This encourages the rear wheels to follow the front tracks, rather than the nose of the car, which prevents heavy under steering. Under extreme braking, the ReAxs system will automatically force the rear wheels ‘toe in’, helping you to keep the car stable and in control.

Reassuring Protection
The new Saab Active head restraints (SAHR 2) system works together with the car’s body structure and seatbelt system to absorb rear end crash forces and protect the occupants from neck injuries.

Passengers are further protected by the rigid safety cage of strengthened beams, seatbelt pre-tensioners, roof rail airbags and the range of safety systems that earned the Saab 9-3 Sport saloon the highest safety ratings in the EuroNCA and IIHS safety tests.

Active Intelligence
The cockpit layout is a reflection of our aircraft heritage – all the functions are logically placed within easy reach. The Saab Information Display enable you to absorb information without distracting you from the road.

The night panel reading illumination displays only the most vital readings and the in-car entertainment can be controlled via the steering wheel.

The Saab 9-3 SportsHatch is without a doubt a 21st century car. Fully Bluetooth enabled it also features ComSense – a safety system that briefly delays incoming phone calls and SMS messages when the brakes or indicators are activated – helping you stay focused on driving.
